Bruno Mars nominated for four Grammys

Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Bruno Mars was nominated for four Grammy Awards, including for best record of the year for "Locked Out of Heaven."

He faces some stiff competition in the category, which includes Daft Punk and Pharrell Williams' "Get Lucky," Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive," Lorde's "Royals" and Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell Williams' "Blurred Lines.

Mars is also up for song of the year for "Locked Out of Heaven." That category also includes "Just Give Me a Reason" by Pink, "Roar" by Katy Perry, "Royals" by Lorde and "Same Love" by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

Rounding out his nominations, Mars was given a nod for best pop solo performance with "When I Was Your Man" and best pop vocal album for "Unorthodox Jukebox."

Jay Z led the 2014 Grammy nominations with nine, and Macklemore and Lewis, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, and Williams followed closely with seven apiece.

The Grammys awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at 8 p.m. EST Jan. 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
