Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Daleks, Cybermen and 11 of the world's favorite Time Lords made an appearance Saturday in Google's so-called "Whodle" tribute to "Doctor Who."

Goggle.com celebrated the 50th anniversary of the British sci-fi series with a multi-level video game in which players battle the Doctor's fiercest rivals.

"The thing is that [Doctor Who is] a Time Lord, a time traveller, so I really wanted to get the feeling across that you could travel to different eras," Google doodle designer Matthew Cruickshank told the Guardian. "I definitely didn't want you to just play one level and that is it, I love the idea of the Doctor being able zoom around the universe."

Players must navigate the to one end of the puzzle and back to the Tardis -- the Doctor's time-traveling space ship -- without getting killed by robotic alien Daleks or Cybermen. But not to worry, if the character dies, he simply regenerates into the next Doctor in line, just as he does in the television show.

The doodle coincided with the 50th anniversary "Doctor Who" special, which aired 2:30 p.m. EST Saturday, featuring three Doctors played by John Hurt, David Tennant and Matt Smith.
