(UPI) -- Tom Cruise and his Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski are teaming up again for Go Like Hell, a film based on the book of the same name about the rivalry between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari.

Sources at 20th Century Fox said the two are in talks to develop the book, by A.J. Baime, into a film in which Cruise will star.

The book, set in the 1960s, tells the story of Henry Ford II, who teams up with racing champion-turned engineer Carroll Shelby and visionary Lee Iacocca to build a sports car that could compete in the European racing circuit, and thus give a boost to the Ford Motor Company's lagging sports car development.

Cruise reportedly wants to play Shelby.

But Cruise and Kosinski may have some competition, as Paramount is reportedly developing its own version of the story, since it owns Shelby's life rights, and at least two scripts are in development.

The action star is set to shoot Mission: Impossible 5 and Doug Limon's Edge of Tomorrow, due out June 6.
