The freelancer started showing symptoms on Wednesday, complaining of feeling tired and achy.

NBC News says when his temperature was checked as part of a routine check it was discovered he was running a slight fever. The cameraman quarantined himself and got medical advice.

Thursday he was tested for the virus. The positive result came back twelve hours later.

Snyderman said she and the other members of the NBC News team are feeling well and not showing any symptoms of the virus.

In a note to the NBC News staff NBC News President Deborah Turness said, We are doing everything we can to get him the best care possible. He will be flown back to the United States for treatment at a medical center that is equipped to handle Ebola patients."
