PESHAWAR, Pakistan, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Two hand grenade explosions in a movie house in Peshawar killed at least four people, Pakistani authorities said.
The blasts Sunday also injured dozens more in the packed theater in northwest Pakistan, Geo News reported, quoting rescue sources. A hospital where the injured were taken said some of them were in critical condition.
A police official said the explosions resulted from hand grenades.
Dawn put the number of injured at more than 30 and said the blasts occurred at the Picture House cinema in the Kabuli Bazaar.
Peshawar is the capital of violence-plagued Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province near the border with Afghanistan.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks.
However, Dawn noted Peshawar is one of the places were authorities have been battling growing Taliban violence.
