CATANIA, Sicily, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- An Italian navy vessel rescued 175 migrants, including six children, and arrested 15 alleged human smugglers in the Strait of Sicily Thursday, officials said.
The migrants -- from Syria, Egypt and Iraq -- were being brought to the Sicilian port city of Catania, Adnkronos International reported.

All of the migrants were in good health, expect one who was suffering from hypothermia, said a statement from the Italian navy.
Fifteen crew members on a so-called mother ship nearby were arrested on suspicion of human smuggling, Adnkronos said.
