MOSCOW, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- A Russian toy store has received a warning after selling a video game that encouraged children to act out a gay love scene, officials said.
An investigation into the Katyusha company in the southern Russian city of Stavropol began when a local parents' organization complained that the game "Fanty," which is for children 12 and up, instructed children to act out homosexual scenes similar to those in pornography, RIA Novosti reported.
A review of the game by experts found that it could "have a negative effect on psychosexual personality development," said a statement made Wednesday by the Stavropol regional prosecutors' office.
Katyusha removed "Fanty" from its 32 stores in southern and central Russia before the prosecutor's office began investigating, the statement said.
One store employee has been reprimanded, while store managers have been issued a warning, the statement said.
