The first victim was a young girl who was carried away by the floods in front of her father, Gulf News reported.

The rain, which fell Saturday, caused significant damage to public and private property.

Schools are closed Sunday while authorities attempt to reopen the roads, which had been shut down due to the rain.

Authorities are discouraging residents from driving.
