MOSCOW, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- There are no "fundamental disagreements" in negotiations over Iran's nuclear program, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Saturday.
Lavrov in a television interview Saturday said he is optimistic the six countries involved in the talks with Iran will work out an agreement, RIA Novosti reported. Negotiations are set to resume Wednesday in Geneva.
France refused to back a draft agreement on the table this week. But Lavrov appears to think that was only a temporary setback.
"Now there are no fundamental disagreements on the issues that need to be resolved in practical terms," Lavrov told the TVC channel.
The minister said negotiators have to "correctly draw up the agreement we have reached in diplomatic language to make it a truly joint document rather than the one imposed from outside."
The talks involve the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany. The goal is an agreement in which Iran would suspend parts of its nuclear program in return for
