ALEPPO, Syria, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Syrian military warplanes struck Aleppo Friday, killing at least 25 people, the Syrian Network for Human Rights in London said.

The group, which supports the rebels fight the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad, said the victims in the Kalasa and Bustan Alqasr neighborhoods included eight children and seven women. The group's casualty figures have not been independently varied.

The 25 the network said were killed in Aleppo were among 97 fatalities across the country Friday, including 13 children and a dozen women.
