Controlled explosion of suspicious package at Athens, Greece, court

ATHENS, Greece, July 17 (UPI) -- Authorities exploded a suspect package at an Athens, Greece, court building Wednesday, after an unidentified telephone caller said a bomb was at the court.

The caller told the To Pontiki newspaper an explosion would occur, but the package at the Athens Court of First Instance, an appeals court, was found and destroyed in a controlled explosion after the building was evacuated, the website of the newspaper Kathimerini reported.

The package was sent to the Athens Bar Association, Kathimerini said.
