Mom who fed child cat food loses custody

LINKOPING, Sweden, April 5 (UPI) -- A Swedish mother has lost custody of her infant after she posted videos of herself feeding cat food to the child on Facebook, officials say.

Court officials in the southeastern county of Ostergotland removed the child, ruling the mother was not mentally well and had ignored warnings about not properly caring for the child, The Local.se reported Friday.

Authorities began an investigation of the woman in January after receiving several complaints about her behavior.

The mother had reportedly asked for help previously after realizing she was not healthy enough to care for the child.
