NAIROBI, Kenya, March 25 (UPI) -- Kenya's supreme court ordered the recounting of ballots at 22 polling stations in legal wrangling following the nation's disputed presidential election.
Pollsters are to check to ensure the number of votes cast does not exceed the number of eligible voters in the districts, judges said amid allegations of stuffed ballot boxes resulting in a victory for the favorite, Uhuru Kenyatta. Second place finisher Raila Odinga has objected to Kenyatta's victory alleging fraud.
Judges said they would also review the forms used to tabulate ballots to ensure they were properly designed and employed, Africa Review of Nairobi, Kenya, said Monday.
The results of the recount were to be announced no later than 4 p.m. Wednesday, the court said.
