JERUSALEM, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- The Israeli air force carried out strikes on two terror hubs in northern Gaza Strip in response to rockets being fired at southern Israel, officials said.

The operation was carried out overnight Friday, Ynetnews.com reported.

Earlier Friday, a rocket launched at Israel from Gaza hit a home in Sderot.

Israeli military officials said the airstrike was successful and the targets were destroyed.

Two people were injured in one of the strikes, the Gaza Emergency Services said. No one was reported injured in the other strike.
