Qatar Charity launches aid campaign

MANAMA, Bahrain, May 28 (UPI) -- Qatar Charity launched its Syrian relief campaign, announcing online it will cooperate with Turkish Humanitarian Relief to deliver aid to Syrian refugees.

The Qatari-based charity organization will provide 25,000 Syrian refugees housed in temporary camps in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan with food, clothing, medical kits, tents and electric generators.

Qatar Charity Chief Executive Officer Youssuf bin Ahmed al-Kuwari said in statement posted online Monday "the organization decided to establish the project in response to the increasing humanitarian need observed in all Syrian-refugees camps."

He added "the campaign aims at mobilizing the support of communities within the state of Qatar for the benefit of all displaced Syrian people."
