PLO's Erekat hospitalized for heart attack

RAMALLAH, West Bank, May 8 (UPI) -- Palestine Liberation Organization senior official Saeb Erekat was hospitalized in Ramallah, West Bank, after suffering a heart attack, an official said Tuesday.

Erekat underwent surgery and was in stable condition, Maan News Agency reported.

Erekat leads the PLO's negotiation efforts with Israel.
