EDINBURGH, Scotland, April 26 (UPI) -- First Minister of Scotland Alex Salmond says Trump knew about a potential wind farm when he agreed to build a golf course in Scotland.

Speaking at a parliamentary meeting on renewable energy sources Wednesday, Trump spoke out in opposition to the wind farm, saying he was "lured to the country" and led to believe there would be "absolutely no wind farm," The (Glasgow) Herald reported.

Trump is opposed to the wind farm, saying it would ruin tourism.

Salmond, who met with Trump during the development of the golf course, denied he had failed to tell the real estate mogul about a possible wind farm.

"Absolutely no assurances have been given at any time by the first minister or anyone in this administration to Mr. Trump or his organization, and any claims to the contrary are wrong," a spokesman for Salmond said.
