LONDON, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A man whose body was found in a back garden in South London was identified Monday as a young chef who disappeared in October.
Investigators say Kevin Boyle, 26, may have taken his own life, The Sun reported. He gained national attention as one of the first group of apprentices to celebrity chef Jamie Oliver on the British TV program "Jamie's Kitchen."
A resident of Coulsdon found the body Sunday, one day before Oliver had been scheduled to make a television appeal for information on Boyle's whereabouts.
Investigators said there was no suspicion of foul play. But they are curious how the body could have remained unnoticed for so long.
Boyle competed in 2002 for an apprentice spot at Oliver's restaurant, Jamie's Fifteen, and was one of the small group picked out of almost 1,500 hopefuls.
He went on to work at a number of London restaurants.
Boyle, who lived in Purley, which borders Coulsdon in South London, was last seen in the Purley town center Oct. 12, the Croydon Gazette reported.
