Report: Strauss-Kahn a problem on planes

PARIS, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Lawyers for the woman allegedly raped by Dominique Strauss-Kahn in New York say they have received tips of his history of harassing female flight attendants.

Kenneth Thompson and Douglas Wigdor told Le Parisien they received an anonymous letter that said Air France assigns only men in first class when Strauss-Kahn is on board, Radio France Internationale reported. They urged airline staff who have been harassed by the former head of the International Monetary Fund to get in touch with them.

Air France denied the report.

Nafissatou Diallo, an immigrant from Guinea in West Africa, accused Strauss-Kahn of sexually assaulting her at the Sofitel, where she worked. Strauss-Kahn was on board a plane for Europe when he was arrested.

Prosecutors have since revealed questions about Diallo's credibility.

The lawyers said that in addition to the letter there are reports Strauss-Kahn made a sexual remark to a flight attendant on the plane in New York and that he had to be told to mind his manners on an Air France plane in Los Angeles.

"This inexplicable mindset which enables him to abuse women is further proof which gives credibility to the aggression suffered by Ms. Diallo on 14 May," the lawyers said in their interview with Le Parisien.
