Two killed in Iraq bombings

BAGHDAD, May 1 (UPI) -- Two people were killed Sunday and 11 others injured in separate bombings in Iraq, a security official said.

An Iraq army officer was killed in Kirkuk Sunday, and a leader of the Awakening Council was killed in one of two explosions in Baghdad that left 11 others injured, a security official told KUNA.

A report from the Iraqi ministries of Defense, Interior and Health said 211 Iraqis were killed during April, and 377 others were injured. The report said 120 of the dead were civilians, while 49 terrorists were killed and 199 others arrested in April.
