16 fishermen missing after boat sinks

SHANGHAI, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Sixteen people were missing Saturday after a fishing boat capsized in stormy seas at the mouth of the Yangtze River, Chinese officials said.

Just two of the boat's 18 passengers were able to jump into the water before the boat sank early Saturday morning, China's Xinhua news agency reported.

Rescuers were looking for the missing fishermen. A ship from the East China Sea Salvage Bureau saved two fishermen who jumped from the sinking boat.
