Four women testified during the trial that in 2007 Greenhalgh ordered them to take off their clothes and then groped them. The defense suggested all four were lying.

"Throughout this trial, the defense has called all four victims liars," Winston Sayson, the prosecuting attorney, said. "The verdict of the jury has settled that question as to who the real liar is. The crown acknowledges the courage of the victims coming forward. The public must know that such appalling abuse of authority will be investigated and prosecuted."

Greenhalgh, at the time of the assaults was working for Canadian Border Services at the Canadian side of the Peace Arch border crossing in Douglas, British Columbia.

Strip searches are supposed to be conducted only by guards of the same gender as the person being searched, and at least two are supposed to be present at all times.
