Body likely that of missing Canada woman

BROCKVILLE, Ontario, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- A body found behind a gas station Wednesday is likely that of an 80-year-old Brockville, Ontario, woman who hadn't been seen for more than a week, police said.

Police charged a teenager with second-degree murder in the death of Valerie Xavier, who disappeared Sept. 26, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported. The 16-year-old Brockville youth's name had not been released.

An autopsy was to be performed Friday to confirm the body found about 16 miles from Brockville is that of Xavier and determine how she died.

The suspect, who knew Xavier, was arrested the day after she vanished, CBC News said. He was driving her car in Ottawa at the time and also allegedly had her credit card.
