BEIJING, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- A man allegedly took a knife to a kindergarten in Zibo City in China's Shandong province and killed at least three children, city officials said.
The officials said in a statement Fang Jiantang, 26, was detained within hours of the attack Tuesday and has admitted he was responsible, China's state-run news agency Xinhua reported Wednesday.

The three children died at the scene, police said. Three other children and four teachers were hospitalized.
Police said they recovered a 23-inch knife Fang said he used in the attack.
Officials said they didn't know the motive.
