Four dead after kidnapping at wedding

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico, May 12 (UPI) -- A groom and three members of his wedding party were found dead in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, after being kidnapped from a church, police said.

The groom, Rafael Morales, a U.S. citizen from La Mesa, N.M., and three other men showed signs of torture when their bodies were found in the bed of a pickup truck Monday, police spokesman Jacinto Seguro said.

The other men were identified as Jamie Morales, the groom's brother, and their uncle, Guadalupe Morales. The fourth man was not identified.

All four of the men may have been U.S. citizens, FBI Special Agent Andrea Simmons told CNN.

A fifth man was fatally shot when gunmen stormed the wedding ceremony Friday, said Carlos Gonzalez, a spokesman for the Chihuahua State Attorney General's Office. It was unclear if the killings were drug related, Gonzalez said.

Ciudad Juarez, Mexico's most violent city, had more than 2,600 drug-related deaths last year. So far this year, at least 870 people have been killed in the border city, police said.
