Mexican police bodies mutilated, dumped

CHILPANCINGO, Mexico, March 23 (UPI) -- The bodies of two Mexican police officers were found Monday dismembered and dumped in eight black plastic bags outside police headquarters in Guerrero state.

The bodies were identified as those of Predix Luna Simon and Cristobal Luna Garcia, Gulf Times said. They were reported missing Saturday.

More than 15,000 people have died in drug-related violence, mostly in the northern states, since 2006, when President Felipe Calderon enlisted the military in a major crackdown on organized crime.
