Japanese aide questioned on fund reports

TOKYO, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- A former policy secretary for Japan's prime minister was questioned about allegedly falsified political fund documents, sources said.

The documents pertained to Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama's fund management organization, the Fraternity Association of Politics and Economics, the Asahi Shimbun reported Saturday.

The former aide was determined earlier not to have participated in the alleged report falsification, but cooperated with prosecutors' requests for explanations during the final phase of an investigation, the Asahi Shimbun said.

The aide said he had placed his signature on the report, but said he was not knowledgeable about its contents.
