RNC raises $7.8 million in August

WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- The Republican National Committee raised $7.8 million during August, the committee said Monday in Washington.

With $20.9 million cash on hand, the RNC reported carrying no debt, committee Chairman Michael Steele said.

The RNC averaged 9,306 donations each day in August, Steele said. The average contribution was $41.
