Human remains found in suitcases

NEW YORK, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- Two suitcases left on a sidewalk in Brooklyn, N.Y., reportedly contained plastic bags filled with human body parts, police said.

The grisly contents were discovered Sunday by a homeless man rummaging through garbage in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood outside the Upstate Dairy Farms warehouse, The New York Daily News reported Monday.

"Call the cops! There's a chopped-up person in the bags!" the man yelled, said Stanley Grzywacz, 63, a mechanic working nearby.

"It was a foot with a Timberland shoe and sock," Grzywacz said. "I couldn't see much skin. It was just bone."

Police also found parts of a decaying torso, which was examined Monday at the New York Medical Examiner's Office, The New York Post reported.
