SEOUL, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Nuclear envoys for the United States and South Korea will meet in Hawaii to discuss diplomacy with North Korea, the South Korean Foreign Ministry says.
The Foreign Ministry said Saturday that next week's talks between U.S. special envoy Sung Kim and South Korean denuclearization official Wi Sung-lac will focus on North Korea and the diplomatic stalemate regarding its nuclear program, the Yonhap News Agency reported.
The envoys' meeting will take place in Hawaii during a two-day seminar scheduled to begin Tuesday.
Yonhap said the planning of the meeting comes as the South Korean government is attempting to coordinate a meeting between Wi and the U.S. special representative for North Korea policy, Stephen Bosworth.
Bosworth is to attend the Hawaiian seminar next week, along with Frank Jannuzi of the Foreign Relations Committee and U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee staff member Keith Luse.
