PHILADELPHIA, July 26 (UPI) -- Police have two suspects in the beating death of a 22-year-old man in a parking lot near Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, a police spokesman said.

David Sale of Lansdale, Pa., was on the ground and unresponsive when police arrived at the scene. Police told The Philadelphia Inquirer Sale had been beaten and kicked about the head.

The fight broke out between a group of men attending a bachelor party at McFadden's pub, attached to the stadium, and other patrons of the pub. Sale was with the bachelor party.

The altercation started at around 7 p.m. during the late innings of the Phillies game with the St. Louis Cardinals, which the Phillies won 14-6.

Police Lt. Frank Vanore said McFadden's employees threw both groups out of the bar and police were called.

"Several witnesses and potential suspects were taken into custody immediately," Vanore said.

He said police were "waiting to see if charges are going to be approved" by prosecutors and none of the suspects would be identified until formal charges are filed.
