Child cruelty charge for tattooing father

ATLAN, Ga., May 26 (UPI) -- A man who tattooed his 3-year-old son's shoulder was charged Tuesday with the misdemeanor of child cruelty and tattooing a person less than 18 years old.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Floyd County Police Sgt. Teri Davis said the father, Eugene Ashley, 24, tattooed the child's back right shoulder with the initials "DB," for "Daddy's Boy." Amy Ashley, the boy's mother, was not involved in the incident.

Ashley was arrested May 21 after an anonymous person tipped off the Department of Family and Child Services on the state of Ashley's home.

Eugene and Amy Ashley's several children remain with their mother.

Ashley was released from jail on an undisclosed bond amount.
