Man arrested in plane bomb hoax

LONDON, March 22 (UPI) -- A man was arrested Sunday after a bomb hoax involving a flight from the United Arab Emirates to London, authorities at Gatwick Airport said.

Ten minutes before Emirates Airline Flight EK011 from Dubai landed in London, a note was found on board "implying" the plane might be carrying a bomb, police told CNN.

Authorities closed the airport to all other traffic, let the plane land and then searched the evacuated aircraft and the luggage of the 164 passengers, CNN reported. The airport was reopened after nothing was found, said airport spokeswoman Julie Ayres.

More details were not immediately available regarding the arrest or why authorities believed the man was responsible for the hoax.
