Bush says he wants to hit Dallas trails

DALLAS, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- President George W. Bush says he is looking forward to mountain biking when he moves to Dallas after leaving the White House this month.

The city has 23 maintained mountain biking trails totaling 200 miles.

"I'm looking forward to finding mountain bike trails and mountain bike trail riders," Bush told The Dallas Morning News. "I think they've got some good trails, which I've never ridden. So that's going to be part of my routine."

Cindy Bradley, advocacy director for the Dallas Off Road Bicycle Association, said the president "is not going to have any trouble riding our trails around here."

Bradley, who first rode with Bush last spring at his Crawford, Texas, ranch, said Bush is in very good shape and an excellent cyclist, the newspaper reported Sunday.

"He has great tenacity and speed. His skill level is very high," Bradley said. "And he's such a lot of fun to ride with and fun to watch ride. You can see how hard he's working and how passionate he is about it."
