WASHINGTON, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- President-elect Barack Obama says his two daughters may have a White House dog and will be responsible for cleaning up after it.

ABC News reported Wednesday that Obama said he wants to be sure his daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, "scoop the poop" on the White House lawn.

As for what kind of pooch to get, Obama said the incoming first family has received a flood of advice and photos of dogs.

"We're getting more advice about this than my economic policy," Obama said laughingly. "No doubt about it."

ABC reported the Obama girls are going to also have other chores to do while living in the White House, including making their beds and cleaning their rooms.

"That was the first thing I said to some of the (White House) staff when I did my visit," Obama's wife Michelle Obama. "Because, of course, the girls, they're so good. I said, 'You know, we're going to have to set up some boundaries. Because they're going to need to be able to make their beds.'"
