Wednesday's accident came less than a week after the deadly collapse of a school in a wealthy Port-au-Prince suburb.

That accident was blamed on faulty construction and Haitian authorities arrested the school's owner.

Haitian officials said Wednesday they would have an official ceremony in memory of the victims of that disaster. The religious ceremony was planned for Thursday with an national period of mourning running through Friday.
