ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Prosecutors in Orlando, Fla., say Casey Anthony was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of her missing daughter, Caylee.

Judge Stan Strickland set Jan. 5 as the opening day of trial for Casey, 22, who had entered a written plea of not guilty and was not present for the hearing, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported, noting Anthony also was arraigned on charges of aggravated child abuse and four counts of lying to police.

Prosecutors said forensic tests conducted on the trunk of Anthony's Pontiac Sunfire allegedly showed significant levels of chloroform and evidence of a decomposing body. Hair found in the trunk was found to be "microscopically similar" to that found on Caylee's hair brush, alleged a forensic report.

Caylee, age 2, disappeared in mid-June and her family did not report her missing until mid-July, the Sentinel said. Caylee's mother repeatedly has denied any wrongdoing.
