Clinton rejects McCain ad

DENVER, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton on Monday rebuffed a Republican ad that suggested she and Barack Obama have not reconciled after their protracted primary fight.

In her first appearance at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Clinton took aim at an ad being run by Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain of Arizona, CQ Politics reported.

The ad shows clips of Clinton being critical of Obama while the two were competing for the Democratic presidential primary. The ad suggests that Clinton was passed over as Obama's vice presidential pick because she was critical of his experience.

"I"m Hillary Clinton and I do not approve that ad," Clinton said at a breakfast held by the New York delegation. "We're not the 'fall-in-line party' ... But make no mistake -- we are united," Clinton added.
