Serbia not ready to change Kosovo policy

BELGRADE, Serbia, July 15 (UPI) -- Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic says he wants all of the country's parliamentary parties to adopt a resolution supporting its state policy on Kosovo.

The resolution would affirm parliamentary support for Belgrade's current policy of cutting off diplomatic contacts with officials of countries that have recognized Kosovo as independent country, Serbian broadcaster B92 reported.

Jeremic said Monday that Serbia's policy on Kosovo remained the same, adding that it was of "utmost importance for there to be absolute continuity and a single state policy towards the province," B92 said.

The reiteration of Serbia's policy came as Jeremic prepared to travel to Paris Wednesday, where he was to speak with the European Union foreign minister, and then to Moscow and finally to New York, where he will meet with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
