Cuba creating new TV station

HAVANA, April 3 (UPI) -- Cuban state media Thursday announced plans to create a new TV channel with foreign content for audiences on the communist island, Granma newspaper reported.

The 24-hour channel by the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television will reportedly feature a variety of programming, though its content will still be subject to state approval.

The government announced last month it would allow Cubans to own cell phones and computers.
