Expert appears before Peterson grand jury

CHICAGO, March 28 (UPI) -- An Illinois grand jury investigating the death of Kathleen Savio, Drew Peterson's third wife, heard from a doctor who examined Savio's body.

Peterson, 54, is being investigated in connection with the 2004 death of Savio and the Oct. 28, 2007, disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.

Forensic expert Dr. Larry W. Blum examined Savio's body Nov. 13, 2007, and determined that "compelling evidence exists to support the conclusions that the cause of death ... was drowning and further, that the manner of death was homicide."

The death of Savio, 40, who was found lifeless in her bathtub March 1, 2004, was originally labeled an accident, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Stacy Peterson's former minister, Neil Schori, who claimed Stacy told him that her husband admitted to killing Savio, also went before the grand jury Thursday. He reportedly would not discuss what was said in court.
