Texas man accused in infant stomping death

HOUSTON, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- A man accused of stomping his infant son to death was returned to Texas from Philadelphia to face murder charges.

Travis Mullis' return to Texas was delayed Tuesday after Southwest Airlines denied passage because of his handcuffs. He ended up flying to Houston on a Continental Airlines flight, the Houston Chronicle said.

Mullis, 21, faces a capital murder charge in the slaying of his son, Alijah, whose body was discovered along a Galveston road last week. The newspaper said Galveston police flew to Philadelphia last weekend after Mullis walked into a police station Friday and allegedly told officers he had stomped on his son's skull.

A court-appointed Philadelphia attorney said Mullis has a lengthy mental health history and has been off his medication for years, KPRC-TV, Houston, said
