Report: Clinton retooling message

MANCHESTER, N.H., Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Political strategists say presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton is trying to draw more young voters and independents in Tuesday's New Hampshire primary.

The Democratic senator from New York is retooling her message after her third place loss in Thursday's Iowa caucuses to Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards, The New York Times reported Saturday.

At a rally Friday in Nashua, N.H., Clinton surrounded herself young people, in contrast to her caucus night party where older faces from the Clinton administration and her campaign team stood out, the Times reported.

Clinton's husband, former president Bill Clinton, is expected to assume a lower profile than he did in Iowa.

"Hillary says she'll change things, but then voters see Bill and hear them talk about the 1990s, and it's clear that the Clintons are not offering change but rather Clinton Part 2," an adviser to both Clintons told the Times.
