Woman's killing accidentally taped

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- A Florida man's killing of his wife was accidentally recorded on her cell phone, St. Petersburg police say.

Ronnie Williams is charged with the second-degree murder of his wife, Mariama. But the charge could be upgraded to first-degree murder based on the recording, The Tampa Tribune reported.

The recording suggests the killing was not the result of unpremeditated passion, Sgt. Mike Kovacsev of the homicide squad said.

Mariama Williams was stabbed 27 times Sept. 3. Her sister found the recording a few days later when she listened to messages on the victim's cell phone.

In the 4 ½-minute recording, Ronnie Williams allegedly tells his wife, "I got a trick for you." The phone recorded his wife's screams and the couple's 2-year-old daughter begging "Please, Daddy, please."

Mariama Williams' last words were: "I'm dying. I love you."
