The man survived but suffered from vomiting and rectal bleeding, along with having difficulties breathing.

Nassau police said that weeks after that incident on June 14, 2006, Anzalone allegedly killed the man's Chihuahua by prompting a pit bull to attack the smaller animal.

Police alleged that the woman provoked a pit bull by using a metal cane until the enraged animal mauled the small dog.

Police did not offer any motive for either incident.

The newspaper said that Anzalone is facing a third-degree criminal mischief charges for that event, along with a charge of second-degree assault.
