Hill was expected to enter his sophomore year at Waynesburg University, where he was a starting cornerback on the football team last year. But he dropped out of the pre-season football camp and turned in the key to his dormitory room, school officials said.

His stepmother, Tiffany Hill, told investigators that Troy had been depressed for several weeks, KDKA-TV, Pittsburgh, said. Tyrel, the surviving twin, said Troy accused his stepmother of poisoning his food.

School officials in Penn Hills described all three brothers as talented athletes and good students. The 11-year-old twins played baseball and football.
