Partially contained wildfire kindles hope

SEDONA, Ariz., June 23 (UPI) -- With Arizona's slow-moving Brins Fire about 15 percent contained, firefighters hope to have complete control in a week.

Flames reached Slide Rock State Park at Sedona, Ariz., Thursday, threatening to eat farther into the popular tourist and residential area.

But, firefighters managed to halt the fire at the park's outer edges through new containment lines, the Arizona Republic said, and went into the weekend with new optimism.
