EU offer may curb Iran's nuclear program

BRUSSELS, May 15 (UPI) -- The European Union reportedly is preparing a package of incentives it hopes will convince Iran to give up its nuclear program.

Javier Solana, the EU's top diplomat, says the incentives would include economic, nuclear, and possibly security guarantees, the BBC reported. If all Iran wants is nuclear energy from its nuclear program as it claims, the EU package is designed to address those needs, Solana said.

The EU and the United States feel Iran, despite its claims, is actually enriching uranium to develop nuclear weapons.
