Pa. man charged with killing six relatives

LANCASTER, Pa., April 13 (UPI) -- A young Pennsylvania man was charged Thursday with killing his grandmother and five other relatives.

Jesse Dee Wise, 21, was arrested after police found the bodies in his grandparents' home in Leola, Pa., a small town in Lancaster County, WGAL-TV in Lancaster reported. Police said that he has admitted the killings.

Jessie Wise, the suspect's grandfather, reportedly called a friend from New York and asked him to check on his family because he had not been able to reach them. The friend called police after he visited the house.

Police told WGAL they found most of the bodies in the basement. According to a search warrant, they found a hammer, marks on walls and hair and bone fragments upstairs.

Some of the victims had been strangled and some beaten to death, the television station reported.

The victims, all surnamed Wise, were the suspect's grandmother, Emily; two aunts, Wanda and Arlene; and three cousins, Skylar, 19, Chance, 5, and Jessie James, 17.
