BAGHDAD, April 13 (UPI) -- A car bomb exploded near a Shiite mosque in northern Baghdad Thursday killing at least 13 people, the BBC reported.
The attack came one day after 25 people were killed when a bomb went off in a busy market area near another mosque in the town of Howaider, near Baghdad.

Earlier, the U.S. military in Iraq said a roadside bomb had killed an American soldier south of Baghdad on Thursday.
A day earlier, three U.S. soldiers were reported killed in similar bombings.
